What we've been up to recently!

Over the past few weeks we have been continuing reading research papers and gathering up as much information about eye tracking as possible.  I have learned a lot from these research papers and have begun preparing for the beginning of our research. This is very exciting!

NIH Certification

Over the past few weeks I have completed the NIH web based certification for "Protecting Human Research Participants” I had to complete this certification in order to run my experiments later in this semester.  I have learned a few interesting things from this certification.  For example, how to get participant consent to participate in the study and the ethics of dealing with information gained during the study.  This was very interesting and will be very helpful when beginning our studies.

Very First Post!

This semester Fall 2012 Dr. Lazar, Dr. Sharif, and I are beginning research with the help of the Collaborative Research Experience for Undergraduates (CREU).  I am starting this blog to document the progress of our research.  The title of our project is An Empirical Investigation on Code Debugging and Understanding: An Eye-tracking Perspective.  I have updated and created links on our website (http://csis.ysu.edu/~creu/) it has information about our research.  Eventually it will have more information this is only the beginning!
